So Ladies I totally get this..but truth is lifting wont bulk you up unless you are training for Miss Olympia and even than it still wont unless you are drinking the funny juice and thats a BIG NO NO!!! …Everytime a new client asks me to train they say Susan I want the best body ever but I don’t want to bulk up. Well here are some benefits from lifting NO BULK NEEDED…
1. You will be physically stronger:
Just think lifting the laundry, the groceries, the kids will be so much easier, just think your daily routines become easier once you have the strength to do it on your own, not to mention that just moderate lifting will increase your strength by almost 30 percent.
2. You will lose BODY FAT…
I say this till I’m blue in the face, the MORE muscle you have the LESS fat you will have, there have never been a truer statement! every study i ever read has said the same thing, the average woman who strength trains two to three times a week for two months will gain nearly two pounds of muscle and will lose 3.5 pounds of fat. As your lean muscle increases so does your resting metabolism, and you burn more calories all day long. So basically, for each pound of muscle you gain, you burn 35 to 50 more calories each day. That can really add up. I tried this out for my self when i first started lifting and I will say the proof is in the pudding…
3. You will gain strength with out the bulk.
Every study I ever read also says that unlike men, women typically don’t gain size from strength training, because compared to men, women have 10 to 30 times less of the hormones that cause muscle hypertrophy. You will, however, develop muscle tone and definition. This is a bonus.
4. You will improve your attitude and help fight depression.
Strength training helps reduce depression symptoms. Ladies who lift feel more confident and more capable of doing things on there own. Once you like the way you look and feel in the clothes you are wearing your attitude begins to change you feel happier.
and lastly Lifting reduce your chances of DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, INJURIES AND ARTHRITIS,
Strength training builds muscle and also builds stronger connective tissues and increases joint stability. weight training can improve cardiovascular health it will lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, increasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol and lowering blood pressure. When cardiovascular exercise is added, these benefits are maximized! Strength training also helps the overall physical performance ..so all these races spartan, tough mudder, mud runs, will be much easier once you have the strength and confidence to compete.
these are just a few reasons to lift, one thing I can tell you for sure, EVERYTIME I FINISH WITH MY SETS AND I PUT THE 25LB WEIGHTS DOWN I FEEL EMPOWERED AND THERE IS NO BETTER FELLING THAN THAT…SO LADIES PICK UP THE WEIGHTS I PROMISE YOU WILL THANK ME!
